The Ethiopia-Canada Cooperation Office (ECCO) is a project of the Canadian Embassy in Ethiopia, with a mission to support development activities in the country.
The Government of Canada (GoC) selected Ethiopia as a country of focus in 2009, where it is working to increase food security and agricultural growth, and to grow non-farm employment, particularly for youth. ECCO is designed to deliver support for this goal in two ways:
- through expert technical advice and project planning/management;
- through logistics and administrative service provision (contracting, travel, mission support, etc.).
As a project of the Embassy, ECCO is funded by the Government of Canada and is accountable to Global Affairs Canada, and to the Auditor General of Canada.
