Ethiopia-Canada Cooperation Office (ECCO)The Ethiopia-Canada Cooperation Office (ECCO) in Ethiopia is one of the largest in Africa. The ECCO is distinct from CIDA. (See CIDA website.) The role of the ECCO is to support the initiatives of CIDA and indirectly support the development of the countries of the Horn of Africa. The ECCO is funded by CIDA and is accountable to CIDA and to the Auditor General of Canada. The ECCO can fulfill a number of roles, with a staff size that is similar to the Embassy, comprising both Canadian and national staff. The Unit has experts who can assist in the areas of food security, good governance and democracy, environment and gender. It can provide input to planning, feasibility studies, reviews, project and program monitoring, and evaluation expertise. The ECCO also has a logistical role, assisting in program delivery by handling transportation, bookings, itineraries for incoming missions, customs clearance of project inputs, etc. It also houses and provides management support to The Canada Fund for Local Initiative.

Overview of the WebsiteThis site is designed to provide information on ECCO to all interested parties and to those who would like to receive ECCO's services. The site includes information on ECCO's organizational structure from ECCO Org Chart. Regarding the information on "Who does What?" the ECCO Team Members and Project Team Member - CFLI pages give you brief introduction on each team member. Emails can be sent to each member by clicking his/her corresponding picture or from the ECCO Email List page. You find pictorial view of ECCO's compound and map to the ECCO site in Addis Ababa. You will also find a brochure that explains the work of the ECCO in the Horn of Africa. To assist you with information on services provided by the ECCO, there is a Rates page with the costs of various services. Information that you will require before arrival can be found on the Pre-Arrival Information page. There is also an information booklet to help new comers find their way in Ethiopia in general but especially in Addis Ababa on the Welcome to Addis Booklet. Information on holidays observed by the Canadioan Embassy and the ECCO in Ethiopia is located at Holidays 2011. For those who get services from ECCO, there is a Service Quality Evaluation Form, to download, complete and print then submit to the Director's office at the end of the service.
